2011 Season Closed

The 2011 Season of Softball Sundays is closed.

We would like to thank everyone that made another season a successful. Special thanks to RAS, who kept organizing through perpetual hangovers in order to keep the momentum alive. Hence the unofficial MVP award winner.

See you all next year, when the snow thaws and the grass isn't overgrown.

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone! We will be firing up the grill in honor of Independence Day.

GAME 6

Well this was certainly a first for Softball Sundays. Some kids decided it was okay to take someones phone. What they failed to realize was that the neighborhood is small and thus they were eventually caught. Once the child's grandmother was confronted, she explained that he was on medication. Great excuse grandma! Let's go after the drug companies for producing drugs that induce the urge to commit petty larceny.

Anyway, the game was stopped short as the drama unfolded and eventually restarted on a lopsided foot. Who picks a team and decides that all the pitchers should be on the other team. A cause for disaster which ended up in mercy. Hey the weather was nice and summery...

GAME - 4

After last weekend's rain out, we are sure that you are suffering from cabin fever. This coming week calls for rain, so all the more reason to get outside. 

We also have reason to celebrate. It appears that the end is not near, despite an apocalyptic prophecy from an American preacher, Harold Camping. Imagine being Robert Fitzpatrick, the retired MTA employee who funded $140,000 into a NYC Transit ad campaign to warn everyone the world will end today.

Enough of that, lets play some ball!

Opening Day 2011

Get Ready for Season SIX of Softball Sundays. It had been a brutal winter in NYC and we think that the most of us are ready for some Spring and Softball. No more getting stranded in the snow.

Many have started to ask and spread rumors about a start date.
